You know the number three stitched on the back of Chance the Rapper’s denim jacket? How about the bright bomber worn by Lil Yachty? They’re all crafted at the hands of Emma McKee, hip-hop’s first (and only) cross-stitch artist. Armed with a needle and thread, the self-proclaimed “Stitch Gawd” creates custom one-of-a-kind jackets for Chicago’s hip-hop crowd. What started as a hobby has now attracted the attention of artists like SZA, Kendrick Lamar and Vic Mensa.
