The Real: Adrienne Houghton Wants to Reboot Talker With a TWIST! (Exclusive)
Adrienne Houghton is opening up about the finale of ‘The Real.’ The television host tells ET’s Deidre Behar about the talker coming to an end after 8 seasons, and why she was ready to say goodbye. As the first Latina in English-speaking daytime TV, Adrienne says she’s proud to hold that title and hopes it means more opportunities for women of color. While she’s open to reviving ‘The Real,’ she says it must be done under one condition: she’s not a part of it! Adrienne’s focus, for now, is on making space for the next generation of outspoken TV personalities. However, the New York native says she would be open to hosting her own talk show, where she can be herself and speak about personal matters — without commenting on pop culture headlines and celebrity news. Adrienne explains why it was important to defend her former co-host, Amanda Seales, after the comedian was left out of ‘The Real’s farewell tribute episode. She also touches on Tamar Braxton and Tamera Mowry-Housley’s absence from the finale — but says she and Jeannie Mai found a special way to connect with the latter. For now, Adrienne is focused on her music, acting and entrepreneurial endeavors that lie ahead. She opened up to ET while promoting her partnership with Adobe Acrobat, which she says helps keep her various projects on track.
