What’s inside a golf ball?

Everybody knows…golf balls.
But…what’s inside them?
A golf ball is made up of mostly plastic and rubber materials.
A two-piece ball has a rubber core with a thermoplastic cover.
The rubber starts out as a hard block.
The one has to heat it and press it, to form a sphere.
During the 1970s the interior of the ball improved a lot, thanks to a material called polybutadiene, a petroleum-based polymer.
This material produced more bounce, but it was too soft.
After some researches, it was determined that zinc strengthened the material.
Polybutadiene was reinforced with zinc, and soon became widely used worldwide.
